4. Social Media Plugins
On our website, we use social plugins from the social networks Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram based on Art. 6(1) sentence 1(f) GDPR to make our website more widely known. The underlying commercial purpose is considered a legitimate interest under the GDPR. Responsibility for data protection-compliant operation lies with the respective provider. These plugins are embedded using the so-called two-click method to best protect visitors to our website.
Facebook
Social media plugins from Facebook are used on our website to make its use more personal. This includes the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button, which is an offering by Facebook. When you visit a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser and integrated into the website.
Through the integration of the plugins, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can directly associate your visit to our website with your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, e.g., by clicking the “LIKE” or “SHARE” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information may also be published on Facebook and shown to your Facebook friends.
Facebook may use this information for advertising, market research, and the tailored design of its Facebook pages. To do this, Facebook creates usage, interest, and relationship profiles, for example, to evaluate your use of our website in relation to advertisements shown to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website, and to provide other services related to the use of Facebook. If you do not want Facebook to associate the data collected via our website with your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. For information on the purpose and scope of data collection, further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as your rights and settings options to protect your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy.

- Receive your personal data provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format or request its transfer to another controller pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR

In the latter case, you have a general right to object, which we will implement without specifying a particular situation.
To exercise your right of withdrawal or objection, simply send an email to info@langenfoundation.de.
7. Data Security
During your visit to our website, we use the widespread SSL procedure (Secure Socket Layer) in combination with the highest encryption level supported by your browser. This is usually 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can recognize whether an individual page of our website is transmitted encrypted by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.
Furthermore, we use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved according to technological developments.
